Coronavirus Travel Update

Updated May 20, 2021

As we wait for the world to reopen from the COVID-19 pandemic, Renedian has suspended ground operations for departures until September 2021.

Renedian offices remain open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Pacific Time to assist guests with rescheduling their holidays. We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time and look forward to welcoming you when the time is right.

Special Considerations for Existing and New Bookings

COVID-19 is a fluid situation, and changing weekly, but here are the two main balls in the air that we are trying to juggle.

A. The restrictions regarding airline travel and countries open for travel and tourism. Soon I expect that there will be a vaccine passport/documentation of some type that will allow vaccinated travellers to enter a country without the need for quarantine.

B. Internal Renedian minimum numbers for running a trip. Normally we aim for a minimum guest head count of 8 to consider the tour a ‘go’. At the moment many tours are above this, but as riders find their person worlds affected, either by the stock market where the vacation money was sitting, or employment that was secure and now in question, the number of people on any tour may fall. If it falls below 8, the opportunity for us to be able to run the tour is reduced.

So, with these two thoughts in mind, here is the protocol for us currently regarding cancelling trips, and any monies that have been paid to Renedian in the event of cancellation:

1. If countries are open to travel and tourism, the airlines can get our crew and riders safely to the areas that we were hoping to travel, and we have the minimum numbers of guests needed, we are open to running the trip.

2. If the above cannot happen, we will cancel the trip. If riders have deposits with us, they are 100% fully transferable to another tour, or even another rider. This deposit will be valid for any tour in 2021 or 2022. There are no re-booking fees. You may have costs associated with airlines, insurance coverage or other extra costs that may be recovered through your travelers trip interruption/cancellation insurance program, assuming that policy exists for you.

3. The normal time to pay the final invoice is 60 days before your trip starts. We will withhold asking for final payment until we know with reasonable certainty that it is OK to travel. If we are in a situation where the trip is cancelled between the time you paid the final invoice and the time the trip starts, 100% of the money paid will be available to you (or another rider) as a future travel credit. There are no re-booking fees, and ask that the re-scheduled trip be taken in 2021 or 2022. You may have costs associated with airlines, insurance coverage or other extra costs that may be recovered through your travelers trip interruption/cancellation insurance program, assuming that policy exists for you.

Thank you for your patience while we wait to see how things unfold. I am in the office during the days, and can be reached directly at 780 707 7363 to discuss any parts of the trip, or the policy above.

If you know that your trip is suspect to cancellation on your side, please let me know as you can. We would never want a trip with us to be a burden to you in any way, so we can re-book you for another tour when it is better for you. In turn, we will be as reactive as we can as we get new information that is relevant to your trip.

Stay clean, and stay safe until we can get back to exploring the world!

Our best wishes,

Rene and the worldwide Renedian team
